I was exposed to the business as an assembly worker in the manufacturing warehouse. I assembled coaster brake and tire assembly kits. There is a powder coating paint line that required multiple people to successfully operate and I worked with a small team to paint trike parts. I helped with filing business documents also. I learned a lot about the actual manufacturing that happens in the warehouse. I also learned a lot from my mom and her decisions as a co-owner of the business. It was my first experience in the real work world and I ended up making lasting connections to the other workers.
Here is a picture of one of my favorite trikes it's the fun cycle.
I signed up for ENT 3003 because I wanted to understand more about how entrepreneurship is applied to work in almost all aspects. I hope to learn about the innovative ways entrepreneurs look at and manage their everyday lives and work environments.
Hello Matt! I love your story, and I love the fact that the the company can alter the trikes for children with special needs! From my experience, it is amazing to grow up with a parent who is an entrepreneur because it helps us, as their children, think more outside of the box. My mom also owns a business and working for her has showed me a lot more then I could have imagined. It gave me good insights on what it takes to be the head of a company, and Im sure you experienced that too. I hope the company is successful in going global!
ReplyDeleteHi Matt!
ReplyDeleteI really liked reading your post, and it's great that you were able to gain so much hands on experience in your mother's line of work. I've noticed that a lot of us in this assigned group have family members that are entrepreneurs. It just goes to show the various aspects of entrepreneurship. It's also great that you were able to hold on to your connections. And I hope that you keep these relationships, as they may help you in your future projects and endeavors. Overall, great post!
